Chinese water torture begins in a different way. Using a slow drip of water on the forehead, the victim is driven crazy over a period of days.

#3 Hippolytus de Marsillis

An Italian lawyer and doctor, named Hippolytus de Marseille’s, created the technique in the 15th century. While it was not created in China, he felt the name gave it the mystery. It made it’s way to America, and here we see it being used at Sing Sing Prison in 1860 New York.

#4 The Mask

First the person is bound and then a mask is applied to the face to keep the head still.

#5 Ice Water

Some use ice water which adds to the torture.

#6 Brain Shrinking

This woman claims that it feels like her brain is shrinking in her skull.

#7 Steady Stream

Another method is to use a steady stream of ice water onto the victim’s restrained head.
